Cyber Monday 2010!!
Alright folks,
maybe you missed the Black Friday sale… man, that thing was pretty darned good too. But I understand! You’re not in your usual browsing location, maybe you spent the day in a food coma, or perhaps your fingers were too coated with turkey grease to work the mouse. Believe me, I’ve been there.
But, the holidays are a great time for second chances, so I thought I’d participate in CYBER MONDAY 2010! With one retail holiday not being enough, the web gets in on this each year with Cyber Monday… a sort of Black Friday but without the trampling. The coupon will work today, 11/29 only, so make someone’s sticky holiday dreams come true!
Just enter CYBER2010 at checkout to get 25% off everything in your cart. If that isn’t enough of an incentive, I’ve just made available my new syrups, Hazelnut Orgeat and Peppermint Syrup! The Hazelnut is a delicious wintery treat, and we make a LOT of them in Oregon, so it’s a natural combination of locale and great cocktail ingredient. The peppermint was inspired by the peppermint shakes and coffee drinks that come out this time of year, but is also amazing with clear spirits and a peppermint drop in the bottom of the glass.
Here’s to cheer for the end of the year!
Black Friday Sale! 35% off everything!
It’s the holidays, time to deal with family, cooking up a storm, setting up the kids table… couldn’t we all use a big ol’ bowl of punch to retreat to?
There are two things you’re going to want.
1. A copy of David Wondrich’s Punch: The Delights (and Dangers) of the Flowing Bowl
2. Some lovely syrups. May I suggest Cinnamon or Don’s Spices #2, for classic holiday flavor. In 750ml size, of course (once your guests try a nice punch using Trader Tiki’s syrups, they’ll want more).
I’ll make the syrups a little easier on you. Use code PUNCHITUP at checkout today, 11/26, and get 35% off your order . It’s only happening today, so stock up! We’ve got a long winter ahead of us.
Need a base formula to get punchy on? Try the following:
- 1 part White grapefruit juice
- 2 parts Trader Tiki’s Cinnamon Syrup
- 3 parts DonQ Añejo
- 3 parts strong Black tea
- a few dashes of Lemon or other citrusy Bitters
Serve over a large section of ice, frozen using a bundt pan, small pizza pan, or whatever else will hold water. For extra fun, freeze a few lemon wheels or hibiscus leaves in the ice.
Drink well and be safe over the holidays!
Okole Maluna!
Cocktail submitteratrix contest!
Okay, maybe it’s not that fancy, however… I’m on the hunt for some great recipes using the syrups. Recipes to be shared with the world, and for inclusion in the first Trader Tiki promotional recipe book, which will be coming up… well, any day now. But not before you submit your great recipes!
Heck, I’ll toss in some incentivization too. All original cocktails using the syrups submitted by September 30th will be tested by me and the staff here at TraderTiki Labs, and we’ll select the top 3 as winners of… whatever great stuff I can scrounge up! Let’s see, some mugs from Munktiki and Tiki Farm, a few bottles of the syrups, of course, recognition for booze brilliance on TraderTiki.com, a copy of Beachbum Berry Remixed, and if I can swing it, I’ll put your drink on a special menu at a real as day tiki bar for real customers to really order!
Here’s the fine print:
Submit early, submit often, just get me a drink, dangit!
Hey Shopkeep!
Calling all Tiki troops!
How would you like for your local store to carry Trader Tiki’s Exotic Syrups? Have you gone in, looked for them on the shelf and left in a combination of anger and disgust? Are you still using some corn syrup crap with artificial flavoring because you can’t find “the good stuff”? Well fear no more! This handy-dandy postcard will help both of us in our quest for damned good tropical drinks. Just print out and fill out the image below, or download the 4-card PDF. If I get a call from your local liquor store, and they mention your name, I’ll be sending you TWO TraderTiki Signature 15oz glasses, and enough swizzle sticks to plug a volcano. Heck, I may even make a special badge of awesomeness for you.
Either way, print out the below image and hand it to your local shopkeep. Then, send an e-mail via the contact page and let me know that you’ve been spreading the good word. If they call, I’ll pack and ship you some goodies tout suite!
Thanks, and Okole Maluna!
New Products!
If you haven’t browsed around the site, or aren’t following my on twitter or facebook, you may have missed mention of some of the new products released as of June 2010, and shipping now!
Passion Fruit Syrup – Brought to the market because I couldn’t find a good one myself! Tart, sweet, and everything you could want for your Hurricanes, Pieces of Eight, 1950 Zombies, and whatever else comes to mind.
Don’s Spices #2 – What was once simply a code in a Don’s Beachcomber bartender’s notebook was uncracked by Jeff “Beachbum” Berry and brought to you by Trader Tiki. Vanilla and allspice create a mysteriously wonderful flavor… crucial to the Nui Nui!
Hibiscus Grenadine – A tropical twist on a classic ingredient. We take real hibiscus flowers, extract their color and flavor, and blend with sugar and pomegranate juice for a floral and zingy, sweet and potent colorizer. It’s truly amazing stuff!
