Announcing an exciting new product line from Trader Tiki! Trader Tiki’s Exotic Syrups at the new Trader Tiki Trading Post!
I’ve been doing the concoctioneering thing at home and behind the bar for a few years now, and people have often asked if they can have recipes, buy some from me, or even have me make something for their special event. Well, the second option seemed the most favorable, so, with a few months of getting the ducks in a row and out of the way, I’m proud to announce the launch of my new line of Exotic Syrups!
The first 3 of the line are Don’s Mix, Cinnamon Syrup, and Orgeat. If you’re reading these pages, chances are you’re familiar with the product. If not, these syrups are here to make your time easier in the development and enjoyment of tropical libations! I’ve got recipes sprinkled throughout the site that I’m going to be organizing to give you some ideas of what you can mix, as well as giving you ideas of how to work with the ingredients. There may even be special savings for those who submit their recipe for publication, but stay tuned on that!
The syrups are made in small batches using all natural ingredients at an FDA approved facility here in Portland, OR.
Also available are some nifty Trader Tiki swizzles. Show off your favorite Tiki Drink blog in all your favorite cocktails!
There are plans to expand the line to include more syrups, items, and even my Falernum bitters. Keep checking in!
There are still a few bugs in the online store. These are being worked through, and a total site overhaul is in the works for early 2010.

OK, I was excited about this. I saw Don’s Mix, and although I don’t consider it difficult to make on my own, $9 seemed like a reasonable price and fun to have on the bar shelf. Then I got the shocker: $28 shipping/handling. Where are you sending this from, the moon?

this is a concern I have seen raised a few places. Please note, as is on the store pages, that the shipping calculator in the shopping cart is broken, but calculates correctly once you proceed to checkout.
The shipping tier is as follows:

My rates are based on USPS Flat Rate shipping, and are comparable in the least and occasionally better than shipping rates from some large online retailers.
